If you clicked on the button to come here we don't need to tell you what a bunch of jackasses are handling this piece of software nowadays. They should be locked up for fleecing their loyal customers.

WINFAX was, before Windows XP, an exceptional business productivity tool. We know because we've used WINFAX since it's introduction.
 
They've had bugs now and then but, now, they're selling versions of WINFAX that THEY KNOW will not install or run well with Windows XP. WINFAX Versions 10.0 and 10.02 are a flaming joke.

There are evidently exceptions but the majority of the time WINFAX PRO & XP simply will not work.

We accidentally figured out at least one reliable solution. It's not one Symantec would ever mention because it's embarrassing and unprofitable.

The FIX it to trash all their new software and go BACKWARDS! That's right! Believe it or not WINFAX 8.0 installs perfectly, runs perfectly and just plain works perfectly on Windows XP. It also integrates with all the recent versions of ACT! If you're a long time WINFAX PRO user you'll have to get used to a less slick interface but other than that ... all the same FAXING, ATTACHMENT & LETTERHEAD features work as before. They've really never "improved" the functionality of WINFAX PRO. They just made it look better.

If you've got an old copy of WINFAX 8.0 in the closet, clean anything WINFAX off your computer and reinstall the antique!

One strange "quirk" we ran into was the setup.exe file. If you've got a CD use the setup.exe inside of the folder name WINFAX80. The autorun and normal setup.exe don't seem to work on the XP.

If you don't have a copy, we'll sell you ours via download for $10.00 via PayPal. A few people on Ebay sell it for the same, but they don't know about the XP issue. If they did they'd probably raise the price.

Don't even think about doing this if you're on a dial up connection. This is the entire program. It's a 148 meg download and it's ZIPPED. That's a monster even with a high speed connection. The $10.00 will end up paying for bandwidth. By the way no serial numbers or CD keys are required. This program came before all of that started.

We're not giving any guarantees and we're not giving any refunds. All we'll give you is our word that it worked for us on multiple XP machines.

WE PERSONALLY TOLD SYMANTEC about this FIX for the XP problem and since these jerks don't care about anything except making money selling the latest "non-working" versions to new victims they basically told us to shut up and get lost.
